The Hellenic Art Antiques Antiquities Dealers Association was established in 1930. The association was founded by twenty-nine antique dealers whose descendants still practice the same profession today, having as common target to promote the cultural inheritance of Greece.
The members come from all over the country. The trading prices are in line with the international standards ranging from antiquities to contemporary art, addressed to art lovers, collectors, decorators and architects. The antique shops dealing with antiquities, that are members of the association, are under supervision of the tax office for Antiquities and Private collectors which is controlled by the Ministry of Culture.
The Art dealers in order to be accepted by the association are bound by strict adherence to rules and ethics regarding the purchase, disposal and authenticity of the objects.
The members of the association responsibly advise the buyer of the origin, the category and the date of each object, while also provide technical advice on their proper restoration and preservation.
Finally, the association occasionally organises fairs, auctions and bazaars featuring art works and objects, as well as themed exhibitions promoting the cultural inheritance covering the needs of all art lovers.
